    Hi guys!
So i've heard many good things about the Seachem Matrix, about their highest surface areas compared to other brands so I went to get myself a litre of Seachem Matrix.

Then I came across this video, and felt that I was cheated. No doubt they work, but at that price?

Seachem Matrix are a form of processed pumice stone material... the difference is they are guaranteed not to contain impurities or any buffers that may affect the tank water. I guess you are paying for that guarantee.

As a filter bio-media, from my own experience they have worked well to keep my tanks cycles stable, no issues encountered with its bio-filtration performance so far.

I would not know the exact chemical composition of the rocks, but they do work for me, and really, that's most important. Further, I think that just because 2 types of stone looks alike, it does not necessarily mean that they are identical. I gladly await the day that someone can harvest the commonly found pumice stone and achieve the same results. Imagine the cost savings! Until then, I won't take the risk
