No one? Help please...
I intend to keep caridina and neocaridina shrimps. I bought from a LFS today a bag of ANS P-Clay Lush, was told after buying by a friend that it isn't suitable for caridina. The concern was the clay would raise the ph. Any shrimp experts out there able to clarify? The bag says PH 6.5...I'm tempted to place some in a cup and test its ph over a week, but then if it really isnt suitable for shrimps I would also like to bring it back and exchange for something else if the bag isn't open. Has anyone used this for their caridina shrimps?

update:
He says it might affect KH PH GH TDS...and that the breakdown of the substrate will cause problems.

From the features and specs on the packaging it seems to be okay for shrimps... but as with all these lesser known substrate types, very few have documented about its actual characteristics over the short and long term, so if you don't mind experimenting abit then can just try it out (and be one of the first to review and document its usability).
But if you prefer to have predictable results, then best to exchange it for the more popular tried and tested soil substrates that others have used, like the various dedicated shrimp soil brands or ADA aquasoil.
Next time I just pm you better....haha!
