    I have this pleco and was wondering does it eat up the shrimps? Anyone have kept it before?

    It looks like a LDA33. From my knowledge no, though plecos are know to "suck" on slimy juicy scales of certain fish (e.g. discus and goldfish). As for shrimps, never had a problem of shrimps becoming pleco food : )

    Any other takers?

    In the wild, yes as some pleco is meat-eater, they do hunt for little critters like worms and etc. They pounce on the opportunity if shrimps are dying (of course - this is natural)...This is from what I have read.

    But I don't think they do so in the aquarium where food is readily available.
