    Hi,

Anyone has experience with suitable tank mates for cherry shrimps?
Want to know what fish won't eat the shrimps or the shrimp fries.

    Thanks.

    Kf:

basically I just threw in all my cherries, crystal red , yamato (30+), cardinals 80+, rummy nose 40+, bleeding heart, rasbora, diamond tetra, emperor tetra, red eye emperor (forgot the name), blue tetra,SAE, oto,3 suckers.

Now my 6' tank has 50+ of adult cherry and many breed of baby cherry.

Except now I put the crystal red shrimps in a breeding container in the 6' tank to separate out the rest.

    For my case,

SAE, Octos, rasboras and boboras are all fine. Pencil tend to be much more territorial, but they get along well with most shrimps. Most of the time, my fishes and shrimps are sharing the same piece of algae waffer.

For me, tetra never touch them. But ocassionally, i found that my rummy nose will search for it by swimming very near the bottom looking for it, i think among my moss foreground. But never really see my rummy nose eating my cherries alive.

But the tank should have a lot of hiding place for it, to allow it to retreat when it encounter any trouble.

You could consider creating shrimp havens by keeping dense moss, Micrathemum Micrathemoides and Rotala Indica which will keep the shrimps safe from the bigger hungry tetras.

A friend of mine keep scarlet badis badis with his baby cherries and I think the cherries were eaten by them.

I keep Boraras maculatas with the cherries in a Moss Tank and the shrimps managed to breed.
