    Hi,

I have never kept Apistogramma before so since I've plenty of spare tanks, I decided to try out a couple of my favorite Apisto species and one of which, is Apistogramma panduro.

The photos were poorly taken and don't do such pretty fish justice. The male has a nice bluish iridescent but the camera flash makes the fish looks dull as a whole.

    Male Apistogramma panduro

    Female Apistogramma panduro.

Finally, a couple shot to end the day.

And Last but not least, my Betta uberis

Thanks. I read that this species is rather picky when it comes to finding a mate and it's best for them to pair by themselves. I've only a pair and I really hope for the best.

Pretty looking and peaceful with each other.

And Shi Xuan, it's exactly what you have read.. this species is very particular with their mate..
If they are not compatible.. they will chase the other party into a corner.
Usually... the "weaker" partner will either be stressed to death or starved to death.

Okay, noted and fingers crossed. There isn't much aggression but the pair are always at the front of the tank when I approach them, as though they are asking for food.

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't visited this thread since I've been occupied with my wild bubblenesters. Turns out I'm down with my luck. The pair turned out to be incompatible and I had to separate the pair.

Then as though the worst has yet to happen, a couple of weeks back, the male died and I'm left with the female. She's healthy though, feeding well, just no male to pair with but I'll keep her for the time being. I've never seen any female apisto that's as pretty as pandurini and even exhibit colors totally different from the male.
