    Upon several thoughts and planning,

I've finally decided to decomm the 2 tanks in the living room (deskboy 450 and 26cm front curved tank) as i find it a hassle to monitor 2 tanks in the living room (and 1 tall cube shrimp tank in my room) especially when it comes to a weekly WC which is very tedious, so i've decided to merge all the fishes into this new 2 feet tank~

Thus re-using most of the old equips, plants n substrate.
Only bought new tank and lighting + 1 background & 2 "foreground plants" (actually is stem plants).

    List of equipments and specs:

    • Tank : 2 feet (60cm x 30cm x 36cm)
    • Main Filter : Gex Slim Filter L (HOF) with 4 slots for filter media
    • "Pre" Filter : Gex Power Corner Filter F1 (Internal)
    • Filter media : ISTA ammonia remover & quartzite glass (taken up 2 slots)
    • Lighting : Aqua Zonic Super Bright Extendable LED Light Freshwater and Planted Tank 55-65cm (18.72watts)
    • Substrate for background : Gex 水草一番サンド (aquatic plant best sand)
    • Gravel for foreground : ANS NatureSand Sunset Yellow Sand (soaked n washed a few times)
    • Plants & stuffs : Java fern, Java moss tied on driftwood, rocks, Anubias nana, and 2 front unknown plants growing on wiremesh (its growing fast!) and 1 spring onion lookalike tall background plant
    • Thermometer: UP aqua digital thermometer
    • Additional Conditioner : Mosura Old Sea Mud Powder (for background soil)
    • Additional Info : used established filter media and tank water about 15-20%, 40% aged water, 40% tap water with Azoo 11 In 1 Super Bio-Bacteria & Sera Aquatuner

Let the pictures do the talking~

can anyone ID these 2 plants?

"island-feel", to create a natural and bright sandy "beach" effect lol
as i wanna add in corydoras ~

rocks are added to blend in between both soil n sand, so it won't get messy overtime that easily

top-view of "foreground plants", really growing well.. i hope that i don't have to inject CO2 at all.. but shall see how it goes...

front-view, it was all same height when i planted in..
can see the roots are reaching down into the sand

really like the top-view of this plant, reminds me of clover

    YYvA0TCl.jpg
top-view of tank (the GEX fan is so small, pretty much useless for now)
hanged a tray of different hikari mini and micro pellets and wafer for different fishes lol

    front-view of tank~

    current fauna in tank:
Top: 5 lampeye killi & 6 white cloud mountain minnow
Mid: 15 ember tetras, 13 neon tetras,
    3 red balloon platy
Bottom: 2 small oto, 10 corydoras habrosus

    waiting to add:
Top/Mid: 8 platy fry (abt 4 weeks old) currently in breeding tank

    soon to purchase:
    Bottom: few nerite snails?

any advise on the stocking level?

Re: my first 2 feet tank (pictures intensive!) Scaping updates~

    as of yesterday

did it this morning before i left for work.. the stem plants are shifted to the back, and removed the non-aquatic plant... moss which are tied on driftwood are separated from anubias barteri and its shifted to the front, with bamboo cave while the anubias barteri is shifted to the right side together with the petites~

*was told by someone in another forum that the background tall plant on the left is actually a
terrestrial plant, and the 2 "foreground" plant is actually a stem plant, that's why i removed it and shifted that 2 stem plants to back (letting both rest on top of the soil to let the roots grow downwards)

i kiasu a bit, i like to have more "bubbles" in the water... as the HOF doesn't create that much oxygen bubbles in the water..

definitely can do without the spray bar filter...

i saw a shop (striker's aquarium) doing that too... with 2 filters

Thanks! as I thought planted tanks should reduce surface agitation to prevent co2 loss

His tank has no co2 added, hence I think the agitation should not be a problem

the co2 are mainly from livestock, no injection added as most of the plants are hardy plants which doesn't require as much co2 as the rest of the plants out there..

    Updates:

Added SeaChem Flourish (dose every 3-4days) and pressurized co2 system, the stem plan seem to grow very well, except for the white spot incident which happened lately.. Still in the midst of combating against it.

Updates: the white spot still exist in tank currently, still dosing medication (Interpet Treatment No. 6 Anti White Spot)

many new frys (2nd and 3rd batch from red balloon platy) spotted and coping well with the adult community, able to find their own food and shelter (hiding around drift wood/java moss and stem plants)

Using CO2 and airstone at the same time seems to be counter to each other. What is the color of the CO2 indicator?
