Riccia and excel

Going to make a riccia carpet and tying riccia onto driftwood so will dosing excel melt riccia ? And how often do I need to trim the riccia ?

If excel is overdosed or dosed directly onto or too close to the riccia, it may melt... so just keep to the recommended dosage and let the excel solution mix into the water column evenly.

You should trim the riccia once you see its bottom parts start to get shaded from light, otherwise the bottom layer will rot and the top layer will detach and float up.
