I used to keep sulawesi shrimps. To me they seems more easier to keep than kk and bluebolt, reason why is that they do not require chillers. However they are still as sensitive to water condition.
In the past, people are told or advised to buffer the water pH to 8 using coral chips, I tried this method but failed horribly. Until I tested the water from the bag that housed the Sulawesi shrimps that the water is actually high pH (8-8.2), low gH of 3.
Until GC has this product called Sulawesi salt mix from salty shrimp. They have 2 version, the 7.5 version which is for less sensitive shrimps like dennerli, white orchid, blue leg poso, six banded... Etc. 8.5 version is for more sensitive shrimps like harlequin and red line. Less sensitive shrimps can also be kept in 8.5 version.
Both salt mix are supposed to mixed with distilled water, amount of salt to be mixed are written on the packaging itself. Water change is minimum. Maybe once a month or twice. Top up with distilled water. Feeding are as usual as normal shrimps. Plants like java, flame moss can be kept in both 7.5 and 8.5 salt mixed.
I used to keep Sulawesi. I found it very challenging and burnt a hole in my pocket.
Like Seudzar, I used coral sand and chips and failed. It is possible, but it takes great effort. Now that there is salt mix, perhaps there's hope in keeping Sulawesi now...but, ya, I haven't seen any LFS carrying Sulawesi anymore.
Now there are no LFS in singapore selling Sulawesi shrimps. LFS say they are not making money for bringing them it.
Can import in am.

Anyone interested to get sulawesi shrimp can private message me.....
I was keeping harlequins until a few weeks ago when i decided to decom my tank to make space for a planted tank.
They are pretty easy to maintain after the water is stable. In fact i rarely do water change(about 2 or 3 times in a 1 year period), i only top up with RO water and they just eat algae, biofilm and sometimes i treat them with powdered food and Bioplus from mosura and they just breed and breed.
I used the same salty shrimp salt too.
Ok
