Chaq, yeah, was just waiting to get my own place again to start. Sad to hear that your tank was decommed. What happened? Is the aro still around in bare tank? You should start again too. :-)

Re: Dragon Forest II (Arowana Planted) Setup

Very nice writeup and setup. It's enjoying to read with lots of learning points. Thanks for sharing.

Since childhood I always envy my uncles keeping dragon fish in the house.

Few years ago I restarted fish keeping (very small scale) and then into shrimp.

Through these, i started to Google a lot on fish stuff.

Then I chanced upon an article or video to be exact, showing dragon fish leaping out of the water to catch their prey. Those are the wild ones.
I never knew that was one of their ways to get food in the wild.

Then I started had this crazy thought of how about keeping one at home, put branches on top of the tank, put the crickets on it and let it crawl freely. Then watch the dragon "flying"....

Sorry, side track to my crazy thoughts..

Great stuff and nice setup, it takes years to master to this level.
    from 14L to 8L tank.

Re: Dragon Forest II (Arowana Planted) Setup

No need to envy. Get the knowledge as well as the financial ability to start such tank. I was myself in such predicament as you, thinking l couldnt start a marine tank but lo and behold, I managed to start 1 and am preparing for an upgrade after nearly 10 years with current tank. Never say never.

I had the same idea of having branches overhead too. Just no space to implement feasibly.
