Ya, true, need the space and feasibly. I guessed we can only see that in the wild.
If only there's a big LFS to showcase these dragon fish in that kind of setup, have some fixed feeding time, I think both my son and myself will sit there for hours.![]()
Wa! Marine tank! It's another dream piece that i yearned for. Sea horses are the ones that I wanted.
But i can't go for these now. I have very low budget for aquarium and have to go for small low tech tanks.
Last time at Pet Safari, i can spend a long time at the big display tank, admiring the peaceful environment that the fishes had.
It's in my bucket list, that i will go for a bigger tank but this is not the time yet.
from 14L to 8L tank.

My Exciting Fishy Life My Other Not So Exciting Fishy Life My Non-Fishy Life
Occasionally, I would have some trimmings to give away in exchange for a can of Milk Coffee. PM me to deal.

A short video of the arowana taking pellets from my fingers.
At the moment, sometimes it will, sometimes it won't. It's still getting used to it.

A woman: without her, man is nothing.

LIKE!!!! it is so gentle and never bite your finger off :P

Update.
Layout and plants not much change, but experiencing some algae problems. I think I've figure out the cause, but it'll take a few weeks to resolve.
The arowana is easier to mange. LOL. It developed a PLJ (protuding lower jaw), but otherwise is ok. Cheeks started to "rust" a few months ago and the scales are just starting to rim with red. Some how the camera does not capture the red rims. I guess its a matter of lighting and angle.
Anyway, less words, more photos.
Edit: Originally I was able to link photos, but looks like Google has expired the links. I'll have to find a way to host the photos without signing up for a new image host site. will update once I do.

Lovely arowana you have bro!![]()

Lovely set up and aro.

That's not my tank. But as far as I can tell from my own experience and reading on various forums and social media, putting smaller fishes with predator fish is always a risk. Even read and seen videos of predator fish eating their slightly smaller predator fish tank mates.

Loving crypts <3

I understand from Green Chapter that some of the fishes in there get eaten up and they have to top up the fishes regularly.

Your red arowana's colour is very good for it's size and a very impressive planted tank! Takes alot of time and skills to maintain such a tank. Thumbs up and keep it up.
Decided on planted tank for now

Thanks wingwa77. Appreciate the affirmation of the colour.

I still remember aro planted group visit to your place years ago, admiring your awesome setup with the rtg back then. This is more simplified and spacious for your red to roam, thumbs up! Tempting...

Real pleasure to read this journal ! I think the fish is also happy to be in such a nice tank rather than a bare-bottomed one
