this is urgent.

it's 4 feet by 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet

i have about 50 malayan shrimp, 16 cherry barbs, 2 angels, 5 SAEs and 4 discus.
just bought two more discus and 50 neons two nights ago, and 100 malayan shrimp yesterday.

and when i woke up today, 3 discus (not the new ones), 2 cherrys and 70 shrimp died, and the other fish and shrimp gasping at the surface.

what went wrong?
and what can i do?

Did you control the CO2 level properly...?
check on it as in night pple usually close the light and if you did not switch off the CO2, all ur fishes will sure to and go to zzz(die)....

check on it as i use to have this problem, just tat i am lucky enough to save most of my fishes from death....
Now put in your air pump and create some circulation of ur water for more oxygen to get in and remove it after u are sure is back to normal...

the other possible thing is u may intro new stuff which bring the ph too high or low, or make the temp unsuitable which causes it ....

you are simply introducing livestocks too quickly before your water parameters are stablised. malayans being one of the more hardy shrimps shld be doing well in ur 4ft tank.

There's also a chance that you have introduced disease into your tank as you did not quarantine your newly acquired livestock before adding them into your tank.

Acute columnaris kill in a matter of hours.
