Thats a good idea!![]()
There is nothing worst than rubber/silicone suction cups in tank, well for me at least lol.
Glued a magnet to my drop checker and now it is suctioncup-less. Just thought i share with you guys
The chrome plating on the magnet is corroding though. But it looks the same as my chiller external temperature probe which is also corroded. Both turned into copper coloured metal now.

If the magnet corroded into copper coloured metal, won't it be very harmful to shrimps?
Smart and creative move there bro!

Could try dipping the magnet part in wax or cover it with some hot glue to minimise exposure to the water? Just a suggestion (:
good idea, why don't you cover the whole magnet with thin layer of silicon glue, that should help to prevent rust.
Well i thought about it but decided not to since i dont have super sensitive shrimps in my tank haha and the corrosion has reached its limit i think. No more change in appearance of the magnet. It would be good to coat it though, silicone or even aquarium-safe paints.

Take a look at Tunze line of magnet.
