Sexing ballon blue ram

Just got this ram at a lfs. It's always shy but not territorial to my tetras and otos. Can anyone help me with the gender and give me some tips on sexong them. This is the best pic I can get. It's always hiding

Difficult to say but probably male. Female will have red belly.

Female of the electric blue ram dose not spot a pink belly.

This is the pair that I have sold recently.

Female seems rounder with no dorsal extension. ( this may not be always true as some female do have the extension as well)


This is the male, 'longer' body with dorsal extension.

For male blue rams, look for thicker head bluge (from eyes to the forehead) and tapered top fin

For female blue rams, thinner head bluge (from eyes to the forehead) and non tapered top fin

For all other rams, females have pink tummy.

Information from Cichlids Supplies owner - I got poisoned by him and bought 2 pairs of holland rams.
