In such a case, wouldnt just get a cheap Odysseus T5 lights which cost barely 100+ for 4 tubes to cover my tank instead of spending so much for ip3. The plants that I am going to plant is just e.tennelus and some hairgrass with pogostemon erectus as background plants.
    Bro,
Just go for T5s. Its much less headache.
Just got news yesterday from the LFS that the AquaZonic agent has got my set "repaired". I don't know what he means by repaired.
Be sure to check here in the next few days. I post an update even if its bad or good.

P.S. Sometime we can't blame the LFS for pushing us a expensive LED set. After all LEDs cost more and hence more profit for the LFS. They have their operating cost and etc...
We the customers, must do our homework and then make the purchase. I guess I didn't do my homework enough. Hahahaha.

Yes I think I have decided to get Odyssey dual 4 tubes with 2 ballast instead of LED lights. So far I have asked a few experienced LFS and they told me currently led is still not very good for 2ft depth tank for now so I not gonna to spent so much for the lightset. Infact I regretted getting my 322 tank as I got problem in growing alot of plants because of the height.

I think 2ft deep tank require more electricity to run due to the depth compared to a 1.5ft deep tank. I am getting similar result for my maxspect, ramping up to 85 percent light output for my 2ft deep marine tank. Maintenance as well as rearranging corals in a 2ft deep tank is quite troublesome, sometimes wetting my armpit, which when occurred, makes me want to take a shower again.

Doesnt help that our electricity cost is always heading north.

Yes precisely, maintainece for a 2ft depth tank is a chore too and the next time if I am changing my tank will be the most 20 inches in height.

For sunset and sunrise setting, does it transit smoothly or the led will pulse alittle whenever it is brighten or when dimming down?

    OK guys,
    The latest update.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the distributer for AquaZonic lights (Yi Hu Fish Farm Trading) did a one to one replacement with a brand new light set. Kudos to them.

After unpacking the LED light set and trying it out, I observed that the LEDs are definitely brighter than the previous set. I guess the manufacturer must improved the quality.
The plants and fish looked more natural colour. The plants pearled very well.
Also the LFS informed that for mid light, the light output should be adjusted to 18 level. There is a total of 24 levels.

So I guess I got a one in a hundred light set that was faulty. Now the problem has been solved smoothly.

    Cheers.

Glad that your issue was handled rather well I would say.

Does the led transit smoothly from non light to light period, or does it flicker/pulse when dimming or brightening it up?

    Hi Bieffe
You do have a point there. Luckily the LFS (Sun Pets) managed to loan me a T5 set although not a good model but enough to tide me over the waiting period.

So so next time when you're buying expensive lights, you'll be on the safe side to confirm such details with the LFS in case of break downs.
    Regards

    Hi Ingen
Yes, it does flicker but you'll notice it only if you pay close attention to the lights. For me, it was not very obvious.
The new LEDs are blinding bright. If you have enough Co2 and fertz in the tank, your plants will grow like as though they're on steroids with this light set.

may I know what is your tank size because I am still considering if to get T5 lights or led lights but many told me that led might not penetrate to 2 ft depth tank unless get those super exp model.

    Hi
if you're asking me, my tank is 22 inches high, about 2 inches shy of 2 feet.
Length is 4ft. From experience with Aqua Zonic IP 3, I actually have to lower the intensity of the lights.
    cheers

Re: Aquazonic IP3 Vivid day LED lightset

Just bought the 60cm Aquazonic iP3, I find it too bright and wattage is 70+, don't quite like the light shape and stand when having it side by side with my the other tank.
    anyone keen can pm me.

Its not just some form of heat... its alot of heat.

Most of the energy used by fluorescent lights are converted to heat. If you accidentally touch a T5 tube after its been on for a while, your fingers will confirm get burnt.

With that kind of heat, the bulb is usable up to around 9 month. Using the bulb after that period will promote algae growth.
