    Hi,

Just started by a 2ft (60 x 45 x 45) tank 1 week ago and having trouble deciding on the plants.
    Tank cycled.

    Tank spec

    Tank: 60 x 45 x 45
    Light: Maxspec 120W
CO2: Injected (indicator shows yellowish green)
Substrate: ADA power sand, Amazonia normal & powder
    Temperature: 29-30 degree
Rocks: Mixture of Koke and black lava

    Current Plants:

    1) Anubias Petite
    2) Anubias Nana
    3) US Fissidens
    4) Microsorum "Petite" from Anubias
    5) Cyperus helferi
    6) HM
    7) Hydrocotyle sp."Japan"
    Weeping moss
    9) Staurogyne repens

Hoping to create a lush tall forest at the right back, which can also fall towards the front a little.
Please give me some suggestion or comments.

    Thanks!

Tank looks really Good, just gotta await for the lushness to form. Mind if I ask you where you got your tank from and its price? Been looking for something like that too !

As for plant suggestions, would you like to have something green or an alternate ?

    Hi Gabeauu,

I got the tank from Fishy Business, as for the price, you can check it out in their website. Take note that this is their in house build tank and not the ADA ones.

As for the plants, prefer green with minimum reddish. Feel that I should replace Cyperus helferi with HM or rotala type of plants to make that area more occupied.

Overall, not satisfied with my current plant selection or placement. Hopefully some guru can give me some pointers.

Koke rocks are from nature gathered by ADA staff.
Not all Koke rocks, mixed it with Black lava rocks too.

How is your Maxspect performing on those plants? Are you at war with the algae now?

    Re: 2ft planted tank

My tank was setup less than 2 weeks so far, and have yet to notice any algae. Although tank already cycled due to usage of used filter media, as plants have not been confirmed, I have yet to increase the duration and intensity.

Current light duration is 4 hours of 35% for both channel. BTW, my unit was installed with 2 light diffusor.

One thing to take note is that, tank cycled and I am dosing minimum fert (brighty K) only. Not going EI yet.

Plants are currently going through the adapting phase and facing some browning of weeping moss, Cyperus helferi, Hydrocotyle sp."Japan" and hm.

Ic, the reason I ask is because this light is an overkill, unable to utilize it full potential most of the time unless we hang it and lift it up much higher.

Let share, I am using the 160w version.

oh, thanks for your compliments. appreciate we could share the setting once your tank is stable. I am still making some changes now and then, it quite hard to get the ideal setting with the correct spectum.
