    Hi All,

    Got this big fuzzy ball that grew in my tank.

    Does not look like an algae. More like a plant but not a plant.

    Any clue?

    Can't see the pic but it's probably Cladophora aegagropila.

    AF does not allow remote hotlinking of their hosted pics, fyi. Just saw the pic (using other means).

    Btw, you can keep your green thread algae. These algae mass usually grow in nutrient rich pools of stagnant water (e.g. my Nymphaea tub).

    Looks like hair algae to me. Yamatos will like them.

    The pic may not be clear enough. But it branches out like a plant. Hair algae is just a fuzz ball with no systematic branching.

    It is also blocking the light to my e.oriental and the view to my tank.

    Would you guys keep it? About 12' in diameter.
