    i ran a test on my water...it took me only 1 drop for my water to turn bright yellow..meaning my kH and gH is only 17.9ppm...the fistful of coral chip i put in 3 hours ago just now din work..the pH is still 6..which is the lowest my kit can test....what should i do now?...

    tank size - 2ft
    subtrate - ada amazonia
    lighting - 55W
    pH - 6 ( lowest my kit could detect)
    kH - 17.9ppm ( 1 drop to indicate yellow from Aquarium Phamacueticals kH gH kit)
    gH - 17.9ppm
    co2 - 1 bubble per 3 sec
    fauna - bee, cherry, mosquito shrimp
    flora - tonina, HC, erect and xmas moss

    Hi Andrew,

    Your low pH is probably cause by your ADA substrate. I don't use them but I read alot about them bringing down pH.

    The low pH is not a concern for live-stocks and plants. It does bother you when you want to use it to measure your CO2 level.

    hi

    the kh for my four feet used to be like that during initial setup and shrimps keep dying on me. so i just gradually add coral chips until kh rises from 1 to 4.
