Those are copepods, very common in tanks and relatively harmless. If you see them it's a sign of good water quality!
Reduce feeding if you don't want an invasion. And also prevents planaria from showing up.
I've seen relatively peaceful cory cats eating the shrimp fry so I wouldn't really trust fish with red cherry shrimps anymore. I saw one of my cory cats suck a shrimplet into its mouth lol and this was done all the while with an algae pellet right beside it. Given the fact that swordtails seem to be more aggressive, I wouldn't suggest housing them with shrimps. Although if your shrimp population explodes beyond what you can handle (which will likely be the case), then having a shrimp sashimi for your swordtail doesn't sound so bad lol

Thanks for the information. It's good to know that they are not harmful. However, since this is a shrimp only tank and my shrimps seem to ignore them, I'm afraid of an infestation. I'll try to reduce feeding to keep them under control.

nice shrimp tank you got , me intend to set up one too
My cherry shrimps has not breed for a while. The last time I saw a berried shrimp was about 2 months ago. Does anyone know if this is normal? Why have they stopped breeding. Also from the previous batch of babies there are only 2-3 survivals from the 20 babies I once counted. Where have they gone? Anyone can help?

Update! more shrimps. Water changes help shrimps to breed. They are sensitive creatures after all.
