hi guys, recently decided to make the jump and invested in a co2 system.

Currently using a manual regulator and i am wondering once everything is plugged in,
should i turn the main valve on the co2 cylinder all the way open and not close it again ?

Currently with the valve turn "open", the reading on the metre read somewhere between 1000psi+/-, is this normal?

Should i ever close the valve on the cylinder to reduce the psi?

And is it because im using a manual regulator thats why the bubble count is always not stable and tend to reduce the counts over time?

Hope some kind folks can enlighten,...i did google but mostly didn't come up with answers for my questions.

Edit: all right, i am not that familiar with the metre readings maybe 1000+/- is for kg/cm2? psi maybe is 80+/- .

1000psi reading is normal. It will remain that way until all the liquid CO2 is used up and you're only left with CO2 gas in the tank. Then the reading will slowly drop down as the tank is emptied. There's no need to close the main valve on the tank. Just open it fully and close it when you're transporting/moving it.

As you're using a manual regulator, the bubble count will not be stable. It will be rather hard to get a stable bubble count. I suggest you invest in a proper electronic solenoid as they come with a needle valve for you to fine tune your output.

hi! thanks for the informative reply! appreciate it!

i notice after a day or two the bubble count will decrease slightly and i have to turn it ever so softly to increase the rate of bubbles.
