    Hi guys,

I have rescaped my tank and is faced with an outbreak of BBA. Manual removal and nuking did not work on them. Please advise to to do? My last option will be a complete tear down.

    Current in tank:
    Filter - Totto Filter
    Lightings: Green Element (45cm)
Lighting period: 4 hours only weekdays, 6 hours weekends
Ferts - only after water change: lushgro and excel
Fauna - 4 angel fish, 1 rasbora, 1 Oto, 1 SAE, 1 Horned Nerite snail

    More frequent water changes?

    More plants?

I noted that some bros here use temporary floating plants to help with the algae removal?

Or maybe you can try some hardy prawns? They do a good job at my tank for algae removal.

A long term solution is really to add in more plants as your plant density is low and your lights, if i have assumed correctly, is pretty bright. Adding floating plants might help but you need to balance your lights, co2, plant levels to achieve algae free environment. Get some ottos and amano shrimps (yamatos). Pretty cheap and decent algae eaters.

May I also add... I noticed yours are all slow growers.. Nanas form the bulk of your plants... You might want to add hairgrass as foreground and maybe 1 species of stem plants. Otherwise, your equipment is pretty good. Cost you quite a bit for the filter and lights.

Add excel twice a week also helps?

Thanks philipians! I will just do that. Was actually thinking of a complete change of filter media as well. Those algae were BGA and BBA as mentioned in the first post.

I have floating plants - amazon frogbits from 1-2 grow
