This is my CRS tank. Set it up 3 months ago and had been killing shrimps. They died after they molted.

Last Monday, my last surviving two shrimps finally molted successfully, after I started using RO water, and added Seachem Stability and Seachem Flourish Trace (for trace elements).

After monitoring the two shrimps over the week, seemed they havesurvive the molt, so today fast hand fast leg i made my way to Aquarist Chamber to buy more shrimps.

    Hope they survive.

    My humble setup:
    - two feet tank
    - Eheim 2213 (2nd hand)
    - additional Hang-on filter from Seaview (from previous 1.5 feet tank)
    - Hailea H28A from Petsmart with modified external probe from Sim Lim Tower.
    - Normal T5 lights from Nature Aquarium
    - Simple air pump from Seaview
    - Crystal Ultimate RO from Aquarist Chamber

    Substrate from Green Chapter:
    - Borneowild Shrimp Soil
    - Borneowild Humic, Minerax, Vigor and Bacter Crystal as soil additives

    Scape:
    - Borneowild Mineral Rock and Malayan Driftwood from Green Chapter
    - Mini Fissiden and Anchor Moss from CRS Haven
    - Ceramic tubes from Seaview

    Filter Elements:
    - Normal ceramic rings
    - 280g of Purigen

    Water treatment:
    - Seachem Stability for bacteria
    - Seachem Flourish Trace for trace elements
    - Lowkey Type S from Aquarist Chamber to mineralise RO water

    Water Parameters:
    - PH 4.6 TO 4.8 (Very low for some unexplainable reason)
    - Kh 0
    - GH 6
    - Ammonia 0
    - Nitrite 0
    - Nitrate 5
    - Temp 25°C, will love to set lower but condensation starts to form at 24°C
    - TDS 165

    CRS:
    Two sources-
    - CRS Haven
    - Aquarist Chamber

Hope everything goes smoothly from now on!

Finally i love feeding time. First time in seeing shrimps surrounding the food.

Most of the shrimps in the photo are from Aquarist Chamber. Good quality at affordable prices. Their high end PRL are very nice too, but out of my range at the moment.

    Re: My CRS tank

Glad that your shrimps are starting to do well. Just be aware of the gh as it may keep rising over time. I've used type s and it can cause gh to shoot up v fast so u may wanna regulate the frequency and dosage. I also find that shrimplets survive better in lower gh as I guess they are able to moult better. But at the end of the day I think just give time for your tank to stabilise and allow the bacteria to grow sufficiently. You will soon see them grazing all the time and shrimplets flooding the tank.

    Thanks for the advice Hitman23.

I'm keeping the GH at 5-6. Read somewhere that it is better for my very low PH.

Not looking good. The few molted are swimming all over and turning orangey like before. Seriously not sure what's killing them. Those that did not molt looks very healthy.
