Air Con Rooms

So i've started a new tank in an aircon room (switched on about 8-10 hrs everyday) and i've heard that it is possible to get white spots on the fishes if the temperature changes up and down too often as the fish will be stressed. The thing is...is it true that if i add aquarium salt that this problem MAY be retified? and if yes, wouldn't the salt affect the water quality? doesn't sodium chloride make the water more alkaline? or should i just put a heater in to keep temperatures at 25 degrees celcius so that the temp change isn't toooo great? Thanks.

is there a window in your room?
if there isn't, maybe the temp. won't drop too much if you leave the room door closed when your aircon is off. and if you have a window, use the curtains.

i think the aquarium salt method is only when your fish have fallen sick, don't think adding salt will reduce stress by a lot. and yes, i would think that a heater would be a great solution.

Use the heater as suggested. The thermostat in the heater will keep the temperature pretty constant. 25C should be just nice. Too cold and some fish such as Discus may not like it. Too warm and the plants won't do well. And when you do water changes, there won't be too much shock to the fish due to the temperature difference with the tap water.

Oh yar....never thought about the temp differences during water changes....hmm....thanks guys...i'll go ge tthe heater from the store right now!!
