    Re: Iwagumi 3ft

I've seen assassin snails dig into soil, worried about uprooting HC if it does.

    Re: Iwagumi 3ft

10 hours of light is way too long... worst if it is without co2. If this carries on, algae will take over. I recommend reducing lights to 6 hours daily together with co2. As your hc is still in the transitioning stage, it needs plenty of co2 to help it, especially when it isn't 1-2 grow... . water temp is at a good level.

Keep your light duration minimum during first few weeks, 6 hrs.

7-10 hrs after they rooted and grow properly.

    Re: Iwagumi 3ft

yes bro, my experience with dsm was that initially, they looked very promising with the intense bubbling the first few days. As the plant undergo the transition state to adapt to underwater, some will turn brown and melt. but after the transition period, it will start to regrow again. Just have to make ensure that you are giving them optimal level of light and co2 to support the growth. in my latest setup, i went for the established and submerged plants instead to avoid such problems.
by the way, your nick very familiar , are you from fjc forum previously?

Probably in a month's time. Once you see new leaves developing, it should be adapted to submerged.

Small world then, we met before. West here.

You might follow some online dose calculator, for example I'm using calc.petalphile.com by Wet.

Never use urea, but might slightly careful using this, it's an ammonia mostly.

    Re: Iwagumi 3ft

I'm now using easylife algaexit. Works great! Can see significant amount of algae gone within a week.

New problem now is my new HC leaves seem to turn brown. I have stop dosing ferts while in algae treatment cos I'm not sure if I should mix. Co2 still same and intense pearling is still around. Any shifu can advice?

    Temp : 25degrees
    Co2 : 6 hours
    Lighting 6 hours
    Fauna : 8 SAE, 4 rasbora, 1 puffer, 3 oto
