No, either you feed alot or setup a separate tank for them.

are they suitable for community tank? considering to get one of these, love the 'fan' claws...

tankmate: corydoras, cherry+fry, neon green, malayan, whiptail....

will the 'fan' collect passing-by shrimp fry? anyone with experience?

Ummm... as I understand it, they feed off micro-organisms in the water. That's why you see them hang out infront of the filter outlet waving their feathered arms about. They are "netting" the micro-organisms as they flow by.

I've never had them, but I've never thought that you have to specifically feed them. A large mature and healthy planted tank should have an abundance of food for them.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    Re:

I have had them. I don't have to feed it specificifically. It will stay at the filter outlet grabbing food from the water flow. At time I see them picking on the gravel like what malayan shrimp does. Had them for a while until I killed them with medication which is invertebrate unfriendly.
