Anyone knows how I can increase the pressure? I tried turning the knob at the bottom to the max but the gauge still reads the same. Reason is coz I can't get it to work with this diffuser. It worked fine with glass diffuser but bubbles seem too big.

yes because this type of diffuser require higher working pressure

    Re: Ista co2

Yeah, the right gauge in your regulator (which is usually the working pressure) only shows 20 PSI... thats too low to run high density ceramic diffusers, they usually need working pressure of 36 PSI and above (higher better) to be able to operate.

    Re: Ista co2

Many LFS sell this type of diffusers to ill-informed customers, or they themselves do not know. LFS that sells this types of diffusers or equivalent that requires high working pressure should also stock up regulators with working pressure, and recommend to their customers prior to purchase.

Many like you, ill-informed, not able to test the products in the shops, purchase it only to find out it doesn't work for you. Frustrating eh?

    Re: Ista co2

I agree with you especially when I bought the CO2 set from him too... He actually recommended the intense one which cost like 30+ but luckily I didn't get it, got this cheaper one instead...

    Re: Ista co2

I wondering, does the packaging mention anything about the recommended working pressure? I know some brand does

    Re: Ista co2

It does, not as high as what UA mentioned. But I was clueless that my regulator cannot tweak pressure.

Normal regulator sold at LFS do not have feature to change the pressure. If not mistaken, locally only certain model of Up Aqua have adjustment feature

    Re: Ista co2

I've tried these diffusers/atomizers (and other brands such as Intense) with normal regulators with 25-30psi working pressures. They may work for the 1st day. But performs inconsistently over the next day, possibly because the pores get plugged with gunk.

There are several Up Aqua regulator models. Some are fixed pressure.
The model available locally that is adjustable is the UA-165. I believe its around the $150 range.

Thanks Suz... But I'll stick to the glass diffuser for now. Less damaging on the pocket

    Ista co2

Looking at your picture again, a typical reading for your left gauge should be around 950-1000 PSI, and your right gauge should be in the range of 35 PSI.

Did u fully open the cylinder tap? Is the tank full? Any leakages?

Lower valve I meant he one at the bottle neck... Not the one with the hose, in any case I did try to open max of both but still no change if I use the diffuser shown..

That is not necessary, depending on the brand.

Use soap bubble to check, just apply around all the join.
