Anyone keeping Bolbitis heudelotii ?

Hi, need to know anyone keeping this plant, Bolbitis heudelotii ?

Other than ordering from FAR EAST Aquatics, any other place? I've read that it prefers water current to flow at it.

Any of the LFS with a decent plant collection for sale and allow you to order. Some:
- Eco-Culture
- Plantas Aquaticas
- System and Control Engineering (BioPlast)
- Clementi Florist and Aquarium
- (The one on second floor of Thomson plaza)
- PeWe Alley

Far East will probably order in from Tropica, so its gonna cost you a bomb.

I keep them. They grow ok as long as you keep temperatures 28 degrees celcius or lower. But you'll lose them if the water temperature goes above that for extended periods during our hot seasons. They do best in chilled tanks. If you are only using fans, I suggest you think twice whether you want to invest $$$ in a plant that might die or detriorate badly (and ruin the aquascape) during the hot months.

Ugh... sorry, my info above is probably wrong. I forgot how uncommon these are until someone PM'd me about them. It was common when I bought them due to a mass shipment, or maybe just good weather, but seems that the supply has dried up again (but then I have not been plant shopping for a while).

Try PeWe Alley on Onan Rd. I don't have the exact address since they moved from their last shop. They used to have a large display tank full of it and was willing to sell small numbers of leaves at an arm and a leg. Again, since they moved, I do not know if they still have them.

C328 has 2-3 small pots of them today. These ferns survive with good current and lighting.

If you do not mind having plants with quite small stalks, you can get from Lake Aquarium (Ginza Plaza).

Keong Siong also has some.

I'm not getting it now but seems from the response the plant is not as elusive or difficult to get as I thought. Yet to finish my setup. I'll get that done b4 purchasing. At least I'm confident I can get my dream aquascape complete with this plant.

I intend to enrol in the coming ADA contest.

in my experience, the plant doesnt really do particularly well near filter outlet as suggested in many literature.

What u need is really cool water and if you have bright lights, deep water to prevent too much lumens landing on the leaves. The leaves usually have brown patches and BBA usually starts from there.
