Just set up my 2nd high tech (CO2) tank almost slightly more than a year after my first tank.

Plants comprises foreground - monte carlo (painstakingly 1 by 1!!, they better spread!! ), middle - C Parva, Hydrocotyle Tripartita, S repens , background - APP plant

planning to get some downoi to fill up the middle part of the soil. Haven't decided on what to do at the 2 rear corners, hope to get something tall yet with 'proportionately sized leaves' (is it even possible?) ... any recommendations? The powerhead is quite unsightly, hope to find ways to hide it. rocks have some flat edges on the surface, thinking of resting some moss on it... mini xmas perhaps?

I love the odyssea evo led light, the color looks so much warmer/richer compared to the cool white spectrum of my Up Aqua Pro LED which i am using in my first tank. It's almost like seeing plants under sunlight.

Those are pretty common plants which you can find at LFS eg. C328 or from other forumers.

    2nd Week updates.

Have added a few more plants along the way, so far so good and they are bubbling well. Can see from the side view that the repens have rooted by quite a lot.
For those who are interested in the specs, I am using HELP soil bought from 328 as the top layer. Made up for the height with reused ADA soil at the lower layer. I don't have bubble counter for this tank, all based on guesstimation but I think should be >2/sec. Lighting is 6 hrs daily on timer.

currently only have 3 shrimps, intend to add in an oto or 2 and perhaps some tiny fishes in time to come.

So you really painstakingly went to do plantlet by plantlet haha. But good for you. Your foreground will be lush

You should have gotten larger stones cause the stones will be covered in no time by the hydrocotle in no time.

Why not plant the reineckiii sp mini at the back to add some colour to the tank?

Looking very complete now. Some color contrast for plants will be good.

    Re: 1 ft cube

It is too late the change the rocks now, will disrupt the slope if I do so.
Anyway, i am thinking of a steep slope from the back and do regular trimming around the front of the rocks so that they remain visible.
As for the reineckiii sp, I have tried them earlier but find their leaves are kinda big compared to the rest of the plants and have put them in my other tank.

Wouldn't your mosses overgrown and entangled with ur repen and downoi thus blocking its light?

This is the first time I am growing moss glued to small pieces of rocks and those are mini xmas moss. I have no idea how fast or large they will get in the current setup but should be easily removed for trimming if needed.

    3rd Week Updates

Plants are growing well nicely. The brown of the soil is slowly disappearing from view. Maybe a bit congested like someone mentioned and perhaps time to trim the background before the mountains disappear...
Have added in some red shrimps as cleanup crew and also for contrast. Still looking around for a suitably sized reddish plants with small leaves (relative to the others) to place somewhere in the tank.

very challenging to fight against the temptation to add in more things which trying to maintain a simple look.
