hi i just bought a 3.5l tank and solenoid regulator frm na...the initial value is slightly below 1000psi...this is ok rite? besides may i know what the other valve is reading or at which level is ideal..

Hmm... I don't know but mine is slightly above 1000 psi. Maybe you didn't turn the main valve open totally? The uncle from Bioplast told me to twist the valve two full turns in order to ensure the valve is totally open.
Don't blame me if anything goes boom though :P
Are you doing your leakage test like Mr Chan usually recommends?
yup i am..im leaving it there today...not touching it ...the knob is closed...i see how it goes..btw the other gauge..what is the usual reading?
The first gauge should read around 1000psi, the second around 25psi.

FlyingFish, what is your surrounding temperature? Slightly below 1000psi should be ok. Those gauges aren't exactly calibrated that precisely. The pressure will also vary according to the surrounding temperature.
Just monitor the next few days, if the pressure do not drop, that should be ok.

This is how the pressure of CO2 varies with temperature:
26°C - 954.88psi
27°C - 977.00psi
28°C - 999.57psi
29°C - 1022.6psi
30°C - 1046.3psi
