    Hi all,

I am new here. Just wondering if doing a DIY CO2 system, will the ethanol produced, by any chance enter the aquarium system through vapour?

Nope! Ethanol has a boiling point of 78.37°C . Even if ethanol evaporates, the high boiling point will cause it to condense on the cool surface of the bottle, thus ensuring the ethanol remains in the bottle! I also have a DIY CO2 but I'm using rice though

i think he is using rice to decompose to make co2, cooked rice should decompose faster compared to raw, i thought normally people use yeast instead? so same question why choose rice?

Yup! I use rice and yeast. The reason I use rice is mainly because of the leftover rice... But it really does work! Also rice releases energy slower than glucose (sugar) hence, I thought it would be a better way

Yup, leftover cooked rice. It has been implemented last week and the bubbles are still coming out strong.
