Totol cost?
Wow, nice and simple setup.
Why would that cost you $350?
My mini tank is $30, with net and food.
Shrimps, cherry. Cost me $20 for 40 of them.
Reuse my led light, Cost $15.
Plant and Moss ball, $5.
Drop in filter, re use, should be $10.
Sand, quartz type, those black in color. $4 for a kg..
Lol. I help him answer. His filter is Fluval Approx 60-70 bucks
His tank I am not sure but tanks nowadays for clear glass 50 -80 bucks
His light either OEM ADA lights or ADA lights anything from 130 bucks to 280 bucks
Soil is ADA - 40 bucks per pack
CO2 another 100 bucks
Lol, you can see it can go up to 500 bucks for a nano

If there are 2 things I learnt about excelling in this hobby - Spend now and as much as you can initially to avoid regret and expect a bad back from scaping.

Nice scape! However I'm not so sure if you're going achieve a good monte carpet with shrimp soil.
Thanks for the kind comments but the scape really isn't anything much.
Appreciate your direction on the shrimp soil too! I guess it is too late to change the soil, is there anything else I which I could do?
Haha the only thing you can do now is wait and see. Just remember the ferts and co2
I only have co2 in there now. No fertiliser though, any recommendations?
went down to fishy business earlier today, backside itchy and bought some rocks.
Rescaped as of 15 Sept:
The Monte Carlos are growing well with new roots, some spreading side ways. (And yes, unfortunately to make way for the rocks some suffered injuries.)
Lastly, with or without the moss ball on the rock? Any opinions?

Hi Eugene, you may want to try the following:
THAT AQUARIUM (Y61
Blk 618, Yishun Ring Road, #01-3236, Singapore 760618
Tel: 6758 5488, 6758 1233
Can check at places like C328 or Y618... they usually sell various grades of shrimps in pre-packed bags, can range from $10 for 50 x low-grade cherry shrimps, or $10 for 20 x sakura grade, or most recently i've seen $10 for 12 x fire red grade (mixed quality), just depends on their stock availability (prices and package composition may also vary slightly between re-stocks).
Here is a thread on buying cheap low-grade cherry shrimps in bulk bags: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...lk-bags-at-LFS
Thanks for the info guys!
