I just had sudden death of a crs shrimp so checking with the experts whether anyone has similar experience before. Basically the symptoms were:

    1) It was grazing all of a sudden it just stand still even the antenna was not moving

    2) Came back 1 hour and it was still still in same position. Sensing something was wrong I gently touch it with my tweezers and its pleopoda was still moving so I left it alone

    3) After 2 more hour I came back to check and it was dead in standing position and its colour was not faded.

Any bro here knows roughly what is wrong? Because seems only 1 shrimp was affected at the moment.

If its just one shrimp that died in such a way, then it could just be old (if its an adult one) and simply "expired" or just weak. These sort of things do happen occasionally.

It shouldn't be a cause for worry... unless you start seeing more of your shrimps exhibiting this same issue, then have to check the tank parameters and surrounding environment.

Yup its only 1 shrimp but i am more interested to know why it die standing up. First time i see shrimps dying this way if I didnt pay attention I would have thought it was still alive.

Yeah, in tanks with alot of hungry shrimps... such things wouldn't even be noticeable as the other shrimps will swarm anything that even just sit still for more than a few seconds.

I've personally observed in my shrimp grow-out tank (housing around 150+ shrimps), if a weak shrimp just stop and become immobile, all the other shrimps will immediate crowd around and start picking at it... can see the shrimp still alive and legs still moving but already in the process of being "recycled". Within 15-20 minutes the shrimp all eaten up and only left bits of shell remaining.

Its really survival of the fittest (and no "food" wastage) in the shimp kingdom.

usually if i see a shrimp with abit of faded color around the legs and edges means its days are numbered.

But so far so good my new batch from Aquarist chamber all survived 1+ week and counting. The casualty was from a very crowded lfs pre-packed bag. Besides proper conditioning before putting into tank how stable the shrimps are when you got them are plays a big role I feel.

Any experienced bros can share usually how long before shrimps are considered stable and used to the tank environment? 2 weeks, 1 month or until you see baby shrimps?
