If a new fish is hiding in a cave for 4hrs during the day does it means it is sick?

    Re: Fish hiding

that's a very vague question, its just like, if a human is hiding in his room for 4 hours a day, is he sick?

It depends on type of fish (eg. Corydoras prefers shades vs Guppy dont mind light) and also the tank mates (if you have aggressive room mates outside your room, you'd probably hide in the room too) and some other factors

A female sword tail. Now it's always hovering at the air bubble area, not eatting much. In my tank for 1 week now

    Re: Fish hiding

Hovering t the air bubble area is not a good sign I think, could be there due to a it's lack of oxygen. But I'm not too sure bro sorry

Don't think it's oxygen since other fishes are normal

    Re: Fish hiding

What I meant was that particular fish is having problems getting enough oxygen, not the rest.
Is the fish swimming normally ? As in no buoyancy problems?

    Re: Fish hiding

It's the only swordtail , but the way it swims is like wacking it's tail right and left.
different swim style from the rest
