Camping here.![]()

Hi
I just gotten a 2.5ft sump tank for a fellow AQ brother for my 4ft display tank.
My original filtration system is using OHF with a AT-106 ( 2800LPH flow rate)
My display tank does not come with a pre drilled hole. As such, I am looking into a DIY overflow piping for the tank.
Hope to get some guidance / suggestion from fellow AQ brothers.
I am planning to use the AT-106 as my return pump.
Thanks in advance

I am thinking of whether is it recommended to use 2 pump for the whole system?
That is to say 1 2200LPH pump to power the drain pipe to the sump and the 2800LPH pump to power the return pipe.
Awaiting comments please

Thanks for the extensive explanation and videos.
Ohf is serving me well but it is taking up place at the top which hinder the cleaning process
I had choose sump over canister because of the flexibility to add more media in the case of increasing bio load. In additional, I am also currently trying out an algae scrubber in my ohf which I planned to bring over to the sump if possible.

I will try to vacuum about the dirt before feeding daily (2 times a day)
Water change will be 50% 3 times weekly.

Haha.
I am keeping 3 altum together with 2 juv discus. That is why i am doing more water changes.
There are also a school of rummy nose,
Cory and oto. Not to mention a L183 and a butterfly pleco.

Thanks for the advices given.
Pardon for the messy background![]()

Nicely done. Have you tested breaking the siphon or simulated a power trip?
Nice to see your DIY siphon working. For me, i'm using an overflow box : http://www.skimz.sg/overflow_box/om2500.html
