After a long hiatus of fishkeeping. Decided to make a comeback with shrimpkeeping!

    Used back my old 2 x 1 x 1 Tank.

    Equipment
    Filter: Jebao 829
(Bought this off the net for a good price, but it cant fit into the cabinet. Thinking to change to an Eheim Classic as it gets very noisy in the dead of the night)

    Light: AquaZone T5
(Shines bright but it tend to heat up the water, LED upgrade in the future for sure!)

Co2: Just got hold of a 2L tank from my FIL, need to get it top up and get a solenoid, diffuser for it.

Cooling: Right now using a computer fan for cooling the temperature. it fluctuates from 25-28. Looking out for a 2nd hand chiller.

    Soil: RAC Active shrimp soil

Re: 15 Gallon Shrimp Tank Diary

Hi markus, cant make up my mind right now to keep fire reds or crs.

Leaning towards crs. I have time to decide as my rcs are in an isolation box tanking the water parameters.

Will be spending on my equipements first and livestocks second.

Looking forward to a growing a carpet of greens but gotta get my co2 and chiller first.

Cheers bro. Thanks for viewing my thread

Re: 15 Gallon Shrimp Tank Diary

Shrimps in the bags have moss or some form of plants so that they can cling on too. It gives them more security and reduces the stress during transport or shelf period, maybe bangwalldie there were other factors affecting them such as water parameters? Maybe what happen was u did properly acclimatize the shrimp in so they dint die of shock but we're unable to adapt fully to ur tanks water parameters.

Just reach back from work. Dead tired, but still can't resist to take a look at my tank.

Noticed that my cherries are busy foraging and swimming around the isolation box. Very tempted to let them out of the iso box, but i'll need to resist the urge as im still looking for a suitable carpet.

Noticed something! Is it just my eyes or is this a berried mama!?

Made a trip down to C328.

Went home with a few buys. CFO sure pull ear when she founds out how much i spent.

Chiuchiu is also keen to know how much i've spent.

    Big project.
    1) Moved out the tank.
    2) Dismantled the Jebao
    3) Paste and cut the black OYAMA background
    4) Transfer of ceramic rings to the Eheim
    5) Plug the eheim in
    6) Test run everything good
    7) Relocated the switches out of the cabinet.

    DONE-D
Oh yes I added a driftwood with some moss(christmas i think) into the tank.
Now my old driftwood looks outofplace.

    What do you think?

HAHA, you caught me there!!. im still reading up on the carpeting plants.. decided to spend my money on a driftwood as a centrepiece.

a i have yet to purchase my co2, chiller and upgrade of better lightings, im putting a hold on the carpeting plants.. im afraid to purchase only to have them growing upwards due to insufficient light/ water param.

    oh well..

@markus yup, thats an empty co2 cannister.. still thinking if i should put it to use after deciding not to use the chiller(why? read below!)

as i am thinking scraping the idea of a chiller.. considering the heat generated, noise as well as the bill.
maybe just getting a better fan but i have to tackle the evaporation issue.

in this case, i guess ill be concentrating on neocaridinas as my temperature does not go above 29 on a hot day.
maybe time to invest on the fire reds

Bought a 2L tank with Solenoid off Carousell at a really decent price.
Went down to bioplast to get it topped up and Mr. Tan was really very nice to answer many of my plant related question.
Headown to Seaview after to get my hoses, diffuser and co2 drop checker.

Met my friend shortly to get his car bulb fixed. Was feeling exhausted but the adrenaline of installing the co2 system is way stronger.

    And here we have it!
