Looking back at when I first decided to go serious and get the best I could pay for light set, the one that stood out for me and also considered mid - high range; was the Maxspect Razor 120W / 160W
Of course eventually because I own a 2ft tank, I went for the 120W one - $5XX plus

Fast forward 9mths later, the LED lights we see on the market are getting more and more varied. Zetlight, Maxspect, Aqualighter, Hydra... now coming from from East Ocean - Sanrise

I am of course still really happy with the Maxspect except for the coverage - but I circumvented it by raising the lighting higher and now it works fine

Just a check. How many of you have changed to LEDs? Not all LEDs are created equal. I am looking at those with remote/dimming functions - the higher tech ones. Any reviews from members regarding which is the best so far?

I have heard good things also about Hydra which is an LED for reefs but they can be customised for freshwater too.

    Looking at your responses.

    Maxspect pros:
    Adjustable brightness
    Built in timer
Super light and sleek (best feature)
No issue for 45cm height tanks - penetrates to the substrate even when raised 20 - 25cm above water

    Cons:
No other fancy functions like passing cloud, lightning etc etc
    No remote control
Coverage not good if using the provided stand
Not sure if it penetrates to 60cm height tanks

    90 x 50 x 50 cm tank: Eheim 2217; ANS CO2 Solenoid with 60mm intense bazooka; Zetlight 6400; Teco 500 Chiller; Borneo Wild Steel inlet/outlet
Ferts: Dry Mixture/Dr Mallicks. Temp: 26 degrees Substrate: ADA Amazonia

Hi what is your workaround to lift the light higher?

I use the AnS metal stand that acts like a raised bar. From there I hang the lights with the provided metal strings. Basically it's a super high stand. Not the low ones that was provided.
