    Is this a E. 'Ozelot' ?
It has brown specks on new leaves.

From the leaf shapes and if the plant doesn't grow tall, then it could be a E. Schlueteri Leopard or maybe just E. Schlueteri. E.Ozelot will have a more brownish new leaves.

Other carpeting Echinodorus include E.quadricostatus and E.latifolius. Good for midground.[/quote:ceb2d7b415]

actually the Leopard has more rounder leaf shape

[quote:437964e454="Simon"]chryl, 1st pix cant see the spots, FYI, E. ozelot has 2 var. green and red

the 2nd pix, can't give a positive ID, could be E. cord spp., have to wait till it matures[/quote:437964e454]

Maybe the spots are 'washed' off due to my insufficient lights.
I suspected that it was the E.Ozelot (Green). Since I replanted this to a spot where it gets the morning sun, new growths have brown specks on them.

For 2nd plant, I know they grow verrrrrrrrry big and tall cos I have seen the emmersed ones in the ponds.

I managed to find a pic from www.dennerle.com and it looks very much like the Echinodorus schlueteri. Not the Echinodorus schlueteri 'Green leopard'.
I bought this plant with a plantlet which grows as big as the 'mother' plant in 2 months. The 2 are whats shown in my picture previously posted in the thread. They don't seem to grow wider..except more compact.

you really shouldn't be doing all that replanting!
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Now I realised. Especially with these plants with 'deep' roots, you can imagine how hardy they are after being uprooted every month.
Lessons learnt (hopefully). After these replanting, I have now seen what you guys call a 'hair algae', BBA and thread algae with my own eyes.

Where would you think the best position in this tank would be for the E.Red Flame?

And I won't mind removing some of the Hygro at all.

Full tank pic. I am not at all satisfied with the layout but I try not mess with it much anymore

left side of tank, It has 2 E. Oriental and 2 E. Schlueteri(?? not sure)

This side is so messy, the moss were reattached yesterday after removing the hair algae.
