    Re: Breeding Shrimp

As long as water perimeters and temperature are right, they should be berried really soon. Perhaps you could share your tank perimeters ?

    Re: Breeding Shrimp

Sometimes the saddled shrimps may wait until they molt first, then they are ready to mate. I noticed in my tanks when there are alot of molted shells appearing, short while after that i see more berried shrimps.

Ample varieties of food and good stable water conditions help alot too, so its just a matter of time.

    Re: Breeding Shrimp

I saw the male doing the "frenzy" dance the night before and the female molted.

Next morning, that female became berried.

Bro Ahpui6, whats the tank temp? And the shrimps that you're keeping?

    Re: Breeding Shrimp

2 more suggestion are BENIBACHI Breeding Liquid and Borneo Wild Dance. But all these are used to promote molting so directly breeding but if your shrimps are having hard time molting better stay away from these products. Force molting = death! . Result can also vary some people say these people cause shrimps to fly all around the tank like mad but personally unless I overdose the excitement I see is minimum.

    Re: Breeding Shrimp

suggest observe their activities during your nights, pay more attention to what they are doing. You will find it rewarding when the time comes. Allow then some time to occbyupied their environment. Give plenty blanch fresh greens. It will help in their growth. Tender, loving, care will path the way to see shrimplet from 1mm in size moving around you tank.
In between you might experience a few adult shrimp cant complete molt and some die of old age. Those are the sad days, however seeing their babies growing everyday gives a lot of pleasure to the hobby.

I am currently keeping Malayan, cherry red and fire red.
    tank temperature 26-29
    feeding :
    Fresh Greens
    blanch greens Japanese cucumber.
    ice berg lettuce

    Dry food.
    sera O nip
    Borneowild Multipara
    Dennerle shrimp king complete

    frozen
    blood worms

    condition
    Borneowild humic in filter
Borneowild beeball in tank & filter
ada bacter 100 ball in filter

When molting is observe. I stop dosing ferts for my plants.

change 4 liters of aged water around every 4 days.

so far for me it works, been seeing my older female shrimps berried. started introduce shrimp in tank in Jun, Jul, and Aug.

Sep - had seen to 2 batches of fire red , 1 batch of cherry red, 1 batch of Malayan shrimp.

    Hope it helps.

so far non, they kind of stick to their own group once they establish their area.

Not sure if you are aware, fire red and cherry shrimps are the exact same species, just different "grade" of quality and color... so if you mix them together, both grades will interbreed and there would then be an increased chance of the higher grade fire reds producing lower grade cherry offspring.

If you want to maintain or improve the quality and color of your fire red grade shrimps, you should keep them separate from the cherry grade shrimps.

    Re: Breeding Shrimp

thanks for the input & advices....

from the posting, molting is critical & have to happen before berry cycle
And of course water parameter has to be right too
was seeing molting happen in the tank but not too sure if these are from those female shrimp w/saddle

Bro, minimum 12 shrimp in the tank and water condition should be at acceptable range. How long have they been keeping them?
