some people hereactually suggest using tissue but i guess it aint that reusuable
no surface skimmer, so usually have to scoop off the oily film on top and will definitely top up water. then discover that i can use those kitchen hand towel to "dab" the surface.. soaked up the oily film with minimal water loss.. don hav to top up water.
nice..

I use newspaper![]()
actually i didnt reuse the hand towel.. coz hav virtually unlimited supply, juz use and throw and tear new one.
my method: gently put the paper on the surface, then pick it up again before it sinks.

If you search AQ for "surface scum", you should be able to find more ways. Such as using Mollies and other live-bearers.
Probably you already know these.![]()
