I also have so many horned nerite baby snails all over my tank, but many have died because the water have turned acidic (low pH). So all I need to do is to remove them manually with a small hard air pipe.
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and to the hobby
My new 15g planted tank has just finished fishless cycling and I'm about to put in a school of zebra danios.
However I've got a bad infestation of snails in my tank and I wanted to get rid of them with a couple of assassins.
Do you know where I can get some? I'm around Kovan MRT, so preferably around there but any other address that sell it would do.
Just a few questions:
1 - How effective are they?
2 - I don't want my assassins to start another infestation of assassins... I was actually thinking of adding one assassin only so that it can't mate, but I think it won't be enough to get rid of my pond snails... any thoughts?
Thanks!

LIFE IS UNBEARABLE WITHOUT A FISH TANK!!!
Not sure of other places, but C328 has a glass jar of them (looks like a jam jar) with the label "assassin" displayed at the small tanks near their cashier counter.
Assassin snails are quite effective at eating up other snails... though their overall efficiency will depend on their numbers and the extent of the snail infestation.
You can just buy 1 or 2 to try out first, then later add more if required. Even when they reproduce, its not as quick and numerous as pond or ramshorn snails, so you wouldn't get overpopulated by assassin snails too quickly.
yup, C328 sold them.
i just got 2 of them.. my shrimps tank are having a ramshorn community
i also bought 5 of this pink red small fish, that kept with shrimps.
interesting

Sorry if this is a little off topic but does anyone know where I might be able to get some Malaysian Trumpet Snails?
thanks
Cheers,
JJ
Can also check at C328, they either sell them individually in their mixed snail tank (the tiny tank with cover near to their cashier counter), or in the bags hanging over the koi tub (where the feeder fish bags are).
Otherwise just post a buy thread in the forum marketplace... malaysian trumpet snails breed like crazy, so most snail keepers always have lots of excess to give away.
Assassin snails aren't an immediate fix. They take awhile to reduce your population of snails in the tank. How long depends on how many you have. They also breed much slower but can still turn into a large number should they start to breed. I started off with 5 but few months ago I sold close to 50. The population hasn't recovered yet but I still see several "running" around my tank from time to time.
