CO2 Level

My 2 ft tank was recently rescaped due to addition of limestone. So changed it to some nice black smooth stones bought from Gratiola.

Rescaped on Sunday. Have CO2 released into intake of eheim canister filter. Checked pH (with JBL) on Monday was 6.2 and KH (AP) was 5 degrees. Based on this level it is about 90+ppm of CO2. But the shrimps inside are not stressed at all and doing fine.

Suspected that something is bringing down the pH and not the CO2. Possibly the stones. But in such case how to determine the actual level of CO2 in the tank if it is not the pH is not influenced by CO2.

Advice appreciated.

Take some of your tank water out to stand/aerate for 24 hours. Measure the pH of that water. The measured pH less 6.2 should be around 1.7~2 for good CO2 level.
