So.. after failing to keep my tank immersed which I was quite disappointed, but it did not turn out that bad after all.

Since its a low profile tank, I really like the view from the top rather than from the front. Been switching plants in and out until it was the "right" one at that exact spot.
This hobby is indeed poisonous, as some would say =/

    Wow, beautiful.

What is the exact dimensions of this tank?

I'm contemplating to get a low profile, 2ft but notice the market standard dimension is kinda weird.
Height 25cm but width at 20cm.
I'm looking for 25cm width instead.

    This tank is 36L x 22W x 17H cm.

The dimensions you're looking at is the GEX 60 slim? Had that tank before, not sure if it counts as low profile. But it has limited width to work with, considering its 60cm length. Was quite hard for me to achieve depth.

atolylica, very nice planted low-profile tank! Looks like it was a great decision to flood it and convert to submersed aquascape.

kurty, you could check out the GUSH Crystal Garden 60L tank (L60cm x W30cm x H24cm, low-iron glass) from Green Chapter. Or if you have more budget can look at the ADA 60F (L60cm x W30cm x H18cm, low-iron glass too) from Fishy Business. Otherwise, for other variations in low-profile tank dimensions, you'll probably have to get them custom made by a tank maker.

    atolylica, great tank!

The water looks to be topped until almost to the brim. It must have been really messy and wet to clean the tank.

I do not see any fissidens anywhere. Do you have another tank?

the dimension is very ideal. but i don't think it comes with a front curve at sides.

i'm not in rush.. ideally is to sell away the 40cm tank and then, slowly upgrade.
    no luck so far..

    buy easy, sell difficult..

I just read the original thread. It seems you are do better when you are wet and not dry. Oh wait. That came out wrong.

I have an OCD that loves water filled to the brim. I try to pick fishes that doesn't have the reputation of jumping.
By the weekend, water will evaporate to a more comfortable level for maintenance, adding on to the fact its a small tank, so its still manageable =)

Yes, 2 more in fact. Its here.

Yeah, majority of the quality tanks designed for aquascaping have straight edges (not curved), its better for viewing aquascapes at different angles as curved edges tend to warp the view of the flora and fauna when looked at from certain angles.

    oh, i didn't know this.

i always thought curved edges are much better.
what do you think of GEX tank?
i saw someone selling slim 600, curved, width 20cm and height of 25cm.
is 20cm a comfortable width to work with?

somehow i feel its kinda limited, the idea width should be 25-30cm, height of 25cm is acceptable.

In my humble opinion, curved edges only look good when seen physically. Their beauty will not really come out in a picture. They also look good when you see the tank from a distance. Up-close, the things in the tank will appear warped around the curved edge.

Personally, I do like curved edges tanks too and I tend to choose them when I buy tanks off the shelves. However, another bad point about curved edges that irks me is that I cannot use magnet cleaners or those cleaning pads to clean the curved edges. The best solution so far I have is sticking my hand and maybe arm in the tank and use my finger to clean it. It is the only thing that I have that will mould and fit snugly into the curve to rub out the algae.

    That's my sentiments, Well said.

Thanks, I probably will consider a standard tank next time round.
But I also notice about crystal vs normal..
The green or blue edge, to me... not very significant..
As long no leak, I'm fine..

Although all my tanks are crystal type
