if it's your 10gal,lower your bioload and do large water change.
btw, how long have u set up your tank and filter?
most probably your filter has not build up enough beneficial bacteria to break down the ammonia produced by your fishes, especially the discus.
seriously hope your tank has finished cycling....

if it's your 1g, change water.
    any filter?
    Cheers,

You have way too many fish in your 10G tank. I think many of them will die pretty soon.

Discus in a 10g tank!!! Stop torturing that fish! Discus need at least 45-60gal to grow properly.

    1 gal, so it's probably a 6inch cube tank.

In a small tank like that, a small difference can make a big impact.

A pair of Badis badis. Might well be bio-overloaded. Also depends on what you feed them. From what I've read, Badis badis won't eat fish food and require frozen bloodworms.

If you are feeding them natural foods, the waste output is higher (due to that natural foods have more indigestable content vs processed foods).

What media is in your filter? You need to make sure the filter is as efficient as possible, especially bio-filtration. Use bio media like biohome, if aren't already. Clean out the filter wool often... as often as once a week. Crap stuck there rots and contributes to the ammonia. Consider a larger (not necessarily faster) filter.

Putting in one or two floating plants will help too. Perhaps for a tank this size, duckweed will fit better. Get the big kind that we used to see in primary school science. Not the teeny weeny ones. Another alternative is use a driftwood that sticks out of the water and tie a money plant to it.

In the short term change half the water daily until the situation improves.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
