Hi! Sounds interesting. What kind of pond do you have? Quite a while back I was looking for stocking options for my pond. You can view it in this link.

Hi there,
Wow nice pond u have there in your home! the pond isnt mine its the schools but the club i'm in is allowed to put fishes in. its a newly cemented pond so i don't want running the risk of adding life stock and realizing that that water parameters can't sustain the fish bioload. stocking with mainly catfish and carp.
your a student? were u studying at?![]()
Sent you a PM
With regards to livestock for a pond. I guess it depends on many factors, the size of the pond, size of filter and if it is planted.
One thing about cement ponds (This is something I have heard of but never experienced). New cement ponds might have chemicals leaching out of the concrete that could potentially be lethal to livestock. It will take a while for these chemicals to completely leach out.
You could try getting some feeder fish, mollies or guppies to test the water out first.

JJ
yeah i got some advise from another forum that cement increases PH value even hit 10 in his newly built pond, had to wait a few months and lots of WC for it to stabilize

What I've seen is people throwing in Pineapples. The acidity is suppose to neutralize the high PH leeching from the cement.
I think it is a waste of pineapples so I suggest you eat them then throw in the skin and core.
Suckerfish no eat poo poo.
How many pineapples would I need hahas.. natural PH down uh? Can be used as food for smaller fish in the pond aswell..![]()
The pineapple theory sounds kind of interesting. I went to look it up.
