Do the external temperature probe modification, should help ease the dreaded stop start conundrum.
Hello guys,
New into the hobby and I recently got myself a HC150A.
Kick in time 2minutes
Kick out time 2minutes
Tank thermometer reading 24.5
Chiller thermometer reading 27.
Set chiller at 25.
It kicks in to about 25, kicks out and went up to 27 in less then 2minutes. Then it kicks in again to bring it down to 25 in another 2minutes, and so the vicious cycle carries on.
With the tank thermo maintaining at 24-25.
Running with jebo825 1100l/h. Have tried putting it to half flowrate but it still the same.
I have read in th long term, it will spoil my chiller.
Roughly as estimated. It has been running for 2weeks.
I have heard about the external probe from ACEZ. But not sure if my problem is that.
Any guidance?
Thanks,
Pobbi

If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.
May I ask what is your tank size? The chiller might have to work very hard if your tank size does not match your chiller.
@BFG
Thanks for the response, I will try it out this weekend and update here
@hann
Im running it on a 2ft tank. App 15gal. Looking to upgrade it ro a 70x37.5x30 tank about 82l. It shouldnt be not enough right? Considering it being able to chill up to 400l for hc150a.![]()
HC 150A for the bigger tank can be challenging and less efficient. I am currently using 1/8hp for my 2ft tank.
@hann
Whats the best tank size or in litres for hc150a? I will try to keep it that range. o.o
