    I think for $2500 bucks you can do a pretty decent 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft tank.
You do need to think of starting small first. But not nano small though. I think a good starting tank is 2x1.5x1.5 or 2x1x1 or 3x1.5x1.5.
These dimensions are pretty solid to start but you have $2500 bucks so i recommend a 3x1.5x1.5 ft tank. Enough to play with scape also.
Tank + cabinet probably about 1k or less from local tank maker with crystal glass
Filter about $200 odd for an Eheim 2217 - enough for 3ft tank
Lights you should go for LED - Maxspect razor 160W, Zetlight, Sanrise etc etc.. Approx 400 plus to 600 bucks
CO2 set from ANS brand solenoid + 5kg tank - about $300 bucks or less
    ADA soils 4 packs - $160
Use the rest of the money for rocks/wood/plants
Sounds like you have a pretty decent setup !

    90 x 50 x 50 cm tank: Eheim 2217; ANS CO2 Solenoid with 60mm intense bazooka; Zetlight 6400; Teco 500 Chiller; Borneo Wild Steel inlet/outlet
Ferts: Dry Mixture/Dr Mallicks. Temp: 26 degrees Substrate: ADA Amazonia

Thinking of switching playground to nano shrimps tank, at least there is something to play with when my fingers get itchy.

Reducing the price to $300 now.
no wonder I found the picture in the sales thread so familiar. what a waste of a hugeass tank! if you have little time, why not keep the 4ft but just do a low maintenance setup? hehe just a suggestion

You guys are tempting me .

Lets see how the sales go. If I can't sell it, maybe I can consider converting it into a Shrimps tank. Just keep moss with Fire red and some lower grade CRS.
One of the bro gave me that idea last night.

With the size and volume of a 4x2x2 shrimp tank... you could easily let them multiply until more than 1,000 shrimps in there.

The down size is I am not running on a chiller, so I can't keep high grade shrimps.

Yes it is. It is actually more than 'good enough'.

If you are getting the 120W/160W version, you will need to get 2 fixtures to cover the length of the tank.
