what HOF are you using? is it a fluval C series? if it's a C3 I think it can throw water quite far at the top. what I would do is hang the fluval on the left/right wall of the tank, get some flow across instead of the back wall (slight difference from bro muar Chee), and then put that skimmer on the opposite side to give it that extra pull and flowback.
aww shucks they finally stocked those hang on canisters? damn
i guess the OF surface skimmer is a better choice for me. Maybe one day when my HOB break down, i then will switch to such cool external filter.
Thanks guys, you have been really helpful.
I only left with 2 weeks to get this tank up and going, before i will be away for my wedding.![]()

Since we are on the topic of surface skimmer, how do you prevent small fishes and shrimps from being sux in? I always find some inside my ehiem when I was using it...
I used atman 102 powerhead 500L/hr for my 2ft tank bought it from y618 and the flow can be adjusted to be lower

Yes. It will be very awesome. I know. I bought an new camera that has retro-styling.
I really would love to help. I mean what better opportunity to try something that I think I know on another person's tank rather than my own tank.
But I already made commitments to my family since the school holidays have started and with you preparing for your wedding, I am not sure if we are able to align our schedules. But I am more than happy to try to work out something with you.
