    Hi,

I'm using the lily pipe spin. Where should i place the intake? Beside or opposite the outflow? My tank is only 36cm long (5 US gallon). Thanks

Most people usually place the outflow and intake on the same side next to each other... that ensures an optimal circular flow pattern around the tank.

I'm using the spin type. Will it create a circular flow pattern?

Well, i've used the spin pipe before and from my experience, while it diffuses the current by deflecting most of the outflow sideways, i noticed it still creates a forward current (though much less than a normal lily pipe), so it will work similarly too.

Putting the intake next to the outflow will also help to create some water movement below the outflow pipe too (which is usually a low circulation area).
