I bought a few Nerite snails to help with my algae problem, and over the last week i see many white things over the plants and yesterday saw many new small snails all over the tank.

I understand that Nerite eggs do not hatch in the freshwater aquarium, andi do not have other snails in my tank. the snails boom is few days after the spotting of the egg sacs.

No new plants as well. Pretty confused on whether Nerite eggs do hatch in freshwater.

Nerite eggs are like sesame seeds, they can get very irritating and hard to remove. Egg sac is typically the common snails. If you could take some pictures of the small snails, maybe members can help to identify. I highly suspect its the common snails.

they are indeed sesame seeds look-alike. i have one other orange rabbit snail and the eggs are all over him as well. i thought they were worms or something but then they are not moving at all. ill take some pictures when Im home.

You have got more than 2 kinds of snails which we usually labelled them as common pest snails and yes. They multiply very very fast

    Re: Nerite eggs

You have pond/bladder snails (fat conical shell) and ramshorn snails (the ones with spiral shell shaped like a ram's horn)... both will multiply easily and quickly. The baby snails you see are from those 2 snail species.

Looks like they hitchhiked in with your plants.
