Looking good,
Welcome to AQ.

Hi guys, I moved here from the marine scene so most of my equipments are geared towards that, here is my first attempt at setting up a planted tank.
Any comments is welcome! I feel that there can be more done for this.
Size of tank 60cm x40cm x30cm (h)

The scape is pretty decent although white sand is pretty tough to maintain. Add more plants. You need much more.

Hello fellow converteragree with Phillipians, you need more plants especially if you're using your existing lighting from your marine tank. Get some supporting plants (temporary) and then remove them in a few months. Floating plants helps too, purpose is to absorb excess nutrients. Other than that happy scaping, looking good so far

I do not like the path, too right, should you put some wood and many plants

thanks for all ur advice. I am using the odyssea evo led for planted, so should be ok, i wanted the path there cause i didnt want the tank to be too cluttered.. will see if it works if not will remove it.
Going to add more plants today! but havent set up the CO2 system yet so wont be getting alot yet

If that's the case i would suggest not to switch on the light since the plants mass does not justify for the powerful lighting.
In terms of scaping, every hobbyist will have their own views and suggestion but at the end of the day, you will be the one planting, scraping algae (hopefully not so often hehehe) and cleaning up. Do it the way you want. Don't like try again. we all have to learn somewhere. Enjoy the processi'm sure it will be awesome.

im not very good at aquascaping, the plants r going all over the place

try not to hurry, browse the internet look at scapes and take note of what you like and the types of plants that are being used, that way you would roughly have an idea and perhaps a ig inspirationthe tank is a blank canvas, you're the artist

Not bad for your fist scape. The plant behind, cabomba, look nice if you see from the top but not from the side. You should use brownish sand for the parth instead of white, it is difficult to maintain white color.

He's converted over from marine and most marine tanks use sump. From what it seems, it looks like built in pipe outflow.

yup im running a sump, was thinking of growing some plants in my sump on reverse cycle, to supply some CO2 as well.
Depending on the design of the sump system, CO2 loss is expected. my guess is, you will have to compensate for the CO2 loss. It also depends on the type of plants you are getting. unless you are willing to spend a lot on excel.
i will also recommend sloping the aquasoil. perhaps thin in front to thick at the back. To give the illusion of space

Hi,
nice attempt for your first scape!
think the foreground is a bit bare.. need to plant a bit more.
maybe remove the wood it is drawing away the rocks attention which I think is nicer...

After adding more plants, trying to find a way to remove the wood without the soils mixing as it is holding back the soil and the sand. Foresee that it will be very messy if i remove it.
