Hi,

Your balansae is fantastic . Long and healthy. How do you manage to keep them so healthy and green. Care to share your tank parameter, dosing routine, fertilizer used, water change freq, lighting (wattage, MH/PL,duration), filteration method (carnister/sump).

Tank = 6x2x2 (ft)
Temp = 25 celcius
PH=6.5-6.6
KH=3
Light = 400W PL @ 12 hours
Fert = Profito, 20ml twice per week, Micro 1ml twice a week
Nitrate = 40PPM
Phosphate = 1-2PPM
Filtration = Sump
Water Change = 30% twice a week

wow nice!! how do you maintain the high co2 rate when using a sump...wouldn't that cause more loss?? how many bubbles per second?

Yes...Sump tank causes a lot of CO2 loss compared to canister filter. However during the non-photoperiod, it also provides lots of Oxygen for the plants. And also no danger of CO2 poisoning.

I inject my CO2 using a reactor which is installed in the sump itself. How many bubles per second.....can't count... I am using a 10 litre tank, last me about 3 months each top up is about $20.

My CO2 is 30PPM

the right side is rather impressive. But the left side aint, perhaps u can do the same on the left side as well, provide the center open space for yr aro to move around. What happen to the other aros u once had?

If you look at my earlier pictures, the left side used to be very heavy as well. Now I trim the lotus down. Which do you prefer?

Impressive! And there's enough space for the arowana. Thought you had quite a few arowana in the tank previously?

Absolutely amazing. It's funny really, in the UK, very few people keep arowanas and the one's that do, certainly don't keep them in planted tanks.

Do you not find your arowanas make a lot of mess when you feed them?

Also, I have never seen Tiger Lotus that big!

the present scaping on the right lookings nicer, better than the previous scaping.. you might want to fill the left side

We have a lot of arowana keepers here (in Singapore)... but only a few keep them in planted tanks. I think out of thousands, I know of 20+ planted arowana tanks. I'm sure there are more but I'll put the number to be under 50.

We have to feed selected foods and we have to feed one piece at a time or make sure they finish everything.

I feed mine thawed prawns and I have to feed one piece at a time. I also limit the amount fed.
